and life goes on.

because i’m a firm believer that sleep is a waste of time, instead of studying i scrapbooked and talked about the boys in our lives with olivia tonight.

oh boy, have we come along way from the freshman/sophomore year versions of ourselves in this picture.

i just read a goodbye note from this lovely lady (OLIVIA!) and cried and cried. it’s okay. we still have summmmmer.

more than half of these kids are seniors and i don’t know what i’ll do without them next year.

beginning of our last season together ever.

and today was the end…. shit.

that’s me giving UA the thumbs up in 7 seat, and giggling over silver next to my 2 seat.

my weekend went a little like:

FRIDAY

• carpooled down to cinci with my brother’s friend and he decided i’m actually cool, and i realized he’s hilarious. can we be best friends?
• last time rigging with seniors/the reminiscing begins.

SATURDAY

• didn’t race until 5:45 at night. was at the regatta site a 6am. cool.
• 4 kicked ass in prelims and finished seeded 2nd overall for finals.
• got to eat penn station for dinner - cincinnati food of my childhood slowly persuading me to go to school at UC.

SUNDAY

• JV8+ final first thing. it was like deja vu from last year. our start was awesome, we did a german power 10 and took half a boat on 3 rivers mid race, and just like last year we walked westerville in the sprint to finish 4th place - and just like last year we finished 3 seconds off of 3rd place. it didn’t matter because once again it was an awesome race, and our coach said “that was the best sprint that i’ve seen ANY of our boats do all season”.
• went back to the hotel and napped and giggled with my four and the V4.
• came back for finals for the 4 and just… killed it. our stroke and 2 seat were both seniors, so it was all for them. we finished 2nd to CJRC (and they don’t really count, anyways, they’re ridiculous) and it was perfect. our time was an 8:11.9 - which would have qualified us for nationals had we raced in the V4+ catergory.
• got to stand on the podium with our medals FINALLY, with our coach.
• cried over seniors leaving.
• drove home with my broski and had sibling bonding time all the way.

this summer i WILL run a half marathon. this fall i WILL go a 2:05 on my 5k. next spring i WILL go a 1:56. so much happy leading into an awesome senior year to come!

because i can’t even wait for the pictures from this weekend to go up on picasa, a glimpse in on the awesome that was midwest.

i can’t do homework because i can’t get over last night and just how awesome and unreal it was. the happiness in this picture is just the best way to describe my entire night :)
